HOW DO I BEGIN THE FOOTWEAR PRODUCTION PROCESS?
Beginning your shoe manufacturing process is simpler than it may seem at first, especially with MEES here to guide you. Once you have finalized your shoe design, sourced your materials, developed and signed off on your initial sample and tested your quality standards, you are ready to begin the production of your shoe. Handled by a selected factory in Portugal that we will help to establish, our expert craftsmen refer to the shoe sample to produce your finished footwear style - handcrafted to perfection.

THE PROCESS OF MAKING SHOES
THE STEP-BY-STEP FOOTWEAR PRODUCTION PROCESS:

 

  1. Complete & approve the sample After receiving your shoe designs and collecting all materials, a sample is created. Through consultation, the sample design is adjusted according to your specifications. In some cases, multiple rounds are necessary until a final sample is approved and ready for production.
  2. Complete & approve packaging After finalizing the sample, we work to complete and approve packaging for your footwear styles. We have a range of unique packaging options that can be fully customised, and that also cover sustainable alternatives. Once the shoe has been completed, it will live inside your chosen packaging when shipment occurs.
  3. Receive components and materials for production Once sampling and packaging is complete, the next stage is to prepare all of your chosen shoe materials and components in preparation for production. These are sourced from both local and international suppliers offering high-quality pieces that the eventual shoe factory will work with.
  4. Set up Production tooling Alongside the collection of materials, the factory work hard to prepare for manufacturing of the shoe. The set up for production includes readying all the correct tooling, cutting knives, creating the shoe lasts for all sizes and inserting the right yarns into the appropriate stitching machines.
  5. Production process begins Handcrafted by skilled craftsmen and women in local factories in Portugal, the production of your  footwear collection begins. Referring to the finalised sample and using all the correct materials, each shoe is handmade, from start to finish.
  6. Quality control and shipment Production is complete and now your shoes are ready for shipment. Before this can take place, each produced footwear style is inspected with an emphasis on quality control. Each shoe is cleaned by hand, placed into your chosen packaging and arranged in preparation for shipment. Packaged at our warehouse, your order will be shipped and delivered with quality guaranteed.
